"I Should Write a Book!"

 

 

 

Text Box: Nicole Irene Gay is a poet, author and publisher who has been writing since the age of 13. She describes her writing style as "conversational, clever, and provocative."   Nicole credits her gift to God and desires that everyone that hears her speak or  reads her writing is empowered to know that they too can do "all things through Christ". Her writing is eclectic and shows influences from greats such as Maya Angelou, Sonia Sanchez, Shakespeare, Toni Morrison, and the Bible.
 
Originally from Philadelphia PA, Nicole published her first book, How to be a STAR:  The Young Person's Guide to Living Your Dreams and Finding Success in 2003. In 2006, she created a literary tribute to Charlene Phillips of the Rock DreamCentre in Philadelphia.  This project is the 2007 published FAITH for the Journey book/journal  which has sold over 1,000 copies.   Never afraid to try new things, Nicole's current projects span a wide range of literary and artistic forms.  Current projects include:  The Eighth Brother, two children's books, and three more plays for release in 2010.
 
Nicole received her Bachelors of Arts in Communication and English from LaSalle University and will receive her Masters of Education with a concentration in Human Resource Development in Business settings from Drexel University.  She will then work toward a doctoral degree in education She happily serves on the assistant teaching faculty of Drexel University where she teaches career management to undergraduate students.
